Everything is better with you.

Coffee is a staple of our every day life. Our media is saturated with coffee cup clutching and espresso sipping and it’s almost impossible to see an ad that doesn’t incorporate coffee, whether it be an insurance ad or an ad for lawn care equipment. It is an integral part of our life, as it has been for centuries. The modern consumer has more options for coffee now than there has been at any point in history. Neighborhood cafes, large chains, boutique craft shops...the list truly goes on for miles. I’ve had several people ask me what elevates one shop above another. How do certain shops so far surpass the plethora of other options? The short and simple answer is CULTURE

Culture. The word has risen in popularity recently and, if you hang around me long enough, you’re bound to hear one of my tirades about the importance of it. As a business, you sell a product or service to generate revenue. That is your primary goal in order to stay in business. Yet, you are also faced with an insanely unique opportunity to create a space and environment that keeps customers coming back to you. Your culture. It’s the way you treat everyone, from the daily regular to the visitors from overseas. It is the way you respect where they’ve come from and where they’re going. It is what people are drawn to, what makes them feel at home.

I have always hammered culture and tried to create one where everyone feels welcomed and valued. I was listening to a podcast once and the speaker was discussing his children. He talked about the environment of favoritism he’s created in his home, where he can tell any three of his children that they are his favorite and they know it’s true. How? Because he knows his children. He knows what they love, what makes them joyful, and he takes time in expressing that love, whether it’s a gift, one on one time or a letter to one of them. It is an environment of favoritism and I fell in love with it when I heard it. It is something I am growing in and something I seek to do not only with my children, but with every customer who walks through those doors.

You have lived a life of experiences and memories. Trials and triumphs. I do not know what you have been through, only that you have been through it. I want to know you. I want you to be one of my favorites. I want Revolution Coffee Company to feel like home to you. A place where you are valued and known. Where you can unload or simply share and rejoice. Whether it’s me, Natalie, Sebby or Amanda, we deeply long to know you and become one of the best parts of your day. It is the centerpiece of our culture.

Truthfully, I could teach a dog to make a good cup of coffee. It is not the most important thing we do. We’re passionate about it, we love drinking it and we love serving amazing cups even more, but what drives us, motivates us and excites us is you. Getting to know each and every amazing person who walks through our doors. The café that I used to run in Dallas had a selfie wall that said “Everything is Better With Coffee”. I think what I’ve always found to be true and what I will always know is...

 Everything is Better with You.
